We have a wide range of plant equipment including Small Tools, Excavators, Rollers, Dumpers, Telehandlers, Tractors from 0.5 Tonne to 20 Tonne and Attachments.

Main activities of the job detail:

  • Routine Servicing and Maintenance of Plant Equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
  • Supporting continuous improvements in health and safety through development of Risk Assessment, Method Statement to minimize risk when completing maintenance activities.
  • Completing Pre-hire inspection reports.

 

Training

  • Reaseheath Training will be the apprenticeship provider for this Level 3 apprenticeship.
  • The employer will give guidance and support throughout
  • Off-the-job training must make up at least 20% of the apprentice’s contracted hours, over the total duration of the apprentice’s planned training period
  • This Standard apprenticeship may include Functional Skills in maths, English & ICT

Skills Required

  • Excellent Communication skills to talk to colleagues about issues and repairs.
  • Problem-solving and diagnostic skills to identify and fix vehicle issues.
  • Attention to detail to perform repairs with precision and accuracy.
  • An awareness of health and safety issues
  • A reasonable level of fitness

Personal Qualities

  • Enjoys working as part of a team but also has the ability to work without supervision.
  • Willingness to learn
  • Efficient and organised when carrying out tasks
  • A reasonable level of fitness

 

Our apprenticeship scheme is extremely successful; all apprentices have continued their career with us in full time, permanent positions both as depot based and mobile plant engineers and gone to managerial positions.
