Volspec Ltd are one of the largest Volvo Penta Dealers in the UK supporting all Marine and Industrial applications. We have focused on providing engineering support for Volvo Penta engines for almost half a century, having been established in 1973.  As well as Volvo Penta, we also support various other engine brands as Authorised Dealers including Hyundai SeasAll and Solé Diesel. Examples of vessels and machinery we work with daily can be found on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages. With the company Head Office and Parts Department located in Essex, and another branch in Suffolk, Volspec employ: A Managing Director, Sales Director, Service Director, Sales & Marketing Executive, Business Support Coordinator, Mobile Engineers, Parts Personnel, and various supporting Admin staff. In supporting the Volvo Penta brand Volspec Ltd is recognised as one of the UK’s premier Dealers lifting many Dealer awards and reaching various milestones over the years – many of which are on display in our historic Service Department.

We’re looking for an Industrial Apprentice to join our team of mobile engineers, with an emphasis on supporting our growing number of Industrial customers. The successful candidate will service, repair, and maintain engines powering a vast range of applications, from power generating sets to port terminal cranes & mobile equipment. The engineering work will be completed from our premises or at customer sites based primarily in Essex, Suffolk, Kent & London.  Due to the nature of the training and our working environment, the successful candidate will be a team player who can work collaboratively as well as independently when required.

  • Complete planned engine servicing and repair work
  • Provide breakdown assistance for Industrial applications
  • Complete overhauls of engines
  • Install and commission new engine packages
  • Assist senior engineers in sourcing and communicating technical support to customers
  • Provide onsite diagnostics & fault finding of engines & control systems
  • Complete seasonal marine work such as engine winterisation and recommissioning
