About the Role
World of Exotics is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Animal Care & Retail Assistant. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates in a professional exotic pet environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily care of a wide range of exotic animals
- Cleaning, feeding, and maintaining enclosures to high welfare standards
- Assisting customers with purchases and advice
- Supporting stock control and store presentation
- Learning and applying animal husbandry and health monitoring techniques
- Administrative duties related to livestock records and retail
Ideal Candidate
- Passionate about exotic animals and committed to their welfare
- Confident handling reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates (including tarantulas)
- Reliable, proactive, and keen to learn in a fast-paced environment
- A team player with good communication skills
- Must be 16+ and not in full-time education
- No prior experience needed – full training provided
