Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general garden maintenance including mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and watering.
- Support the care and development of lawns, borders, trees, and shrubs.
- Operate and maintain hand tools and small machinery under supervision.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and best practices at all times.
- Learn and apply horticultural knowledge through on-the-job training and mentoring.
- Help with seasonal tasks such as leaf collection, mulching, and planting schemes.
- Keep garden areas tidy and presentable.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- A genuine interest in gardening and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and take instruction from senior gardeners.
- Good physical fitness and stamina for manual work.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team.
Desirable:
- Some prior gardening experience (professional or personal).
- Interest in pursuing horticultural qualifications (e.g. RHS Level 1 or 2).
- Awareness of basic plant care and garden tools.
