Job Overview: We are looking for a hardworking and reliable individual to assist with various tasks on our dairy and beef unit. This position involves daily care of livestock, maintaining farm cleanliness, and supporting the team in general farm operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be comfortable working with animals, and be willing to take on a variety of farm-related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Milking Assistance: Aid in the milking process, ensuring efficiency and animal well-being.
  • Feeding Livestock: Provide regular feeding for all livestock, including cattle and calves.
  • Bedding and Cleaning: Maintain clean and comfortable environments for livestock by bedding and cleaning barns and pens.
  • Calf Care: Assist with the feeding and care of calves, including bottle-feeding milk as needed.
  • Wash Down: Ensure milking and calf areas are regularly washed and sanitized to maintain hygiene.
  • Tractor Driving: Operate a scraper tractor for cleaning and general farm maintenance.
  • Farm Operations Support: Assist the team with the daily running of the dairy and beef units, contributing to tasks like herd management and feeding.
  • Fencing & Maintenance: Participate in fencing, building work, and general farm maintenance as required.

  • Willingness to Learn: Ability to pick up new skills and tasks quickly, with a desire to improve knowledge of farming practices and animal care.
  • Punctuality: Consistently arriving on time to ensure the smooth running of daily farm operations.
  • Reliability: Dependable in completing tasks on time and being present when needed, ensuring the team can count on you for farm operations.
