Grasid Ground Care Limited are a multi faceted grounds maintenance service provider. Although designated as a micro organisation, we are currently in our infancy yet hold in excess of 30 years experience working on BALI award winning schemes and national infrastructure projects.
The role entails operating on various client sites from schools to NHS Clinics, private estates, supermarkets, retail parks and large domestic properties undertaking high quality grounds maintenance services.
- Driving company vehicles.
- Loading company vehicles.
- Cleaning company vehicles and equipment daily
- Grass cutting using a range of pedestrian and ride-on equipment.
- Shrub bed maintenance.
- Hedge cutting.
- Tree & shrub planting, pruning and other arboricultural duties.
- Weed spraying (Holding PA1 & PA6A).
- Ornamental flower bed maintenance.
- Pressure washing.
- Litter collection.
Description of the apprentice’s future prospects: | The overall aim for the potential delegate is to train up over a period of 3 years resulting in a highly trained individual capable of operating a grounds maintenance team independently. As a guide, we view key milestones as follows: |
Year 1 | • Commence horticultural base qualification maintaining commitment and dedication to completion.
• Complete CSCS card allowing main site access. • Complete NPTC (PA1 & PA6A) • Complete or commence driving lessons. • Maintain good levels of attendance and employment standards. |
Year 2 | • Complete CPCS Tractor Training
• Continue to commit and pass base horticulture qualification. • Pass driving test. • Complete trailer training. • Complete NPTC ride on mower training. • Complete NPTC hand held equipment training. |
Year 3 | • Complete and pass SSP Site Safety Supervisor Course SSSTS.
• Complete and pass CSCS qualified blue card tests. • Complete and pass base horticulture qualification. • On completion of the above, promotion and own team as Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. |
Note* – It is imperative that any future delegate is committed and capable of meeting the above milestones, you will be supported along the way.
Skills Required: | · Driving license (Preferable)
· NPTC PA1 & PA6A (Desirable) · Experience in Grounds Maintenance (Desirable) · English Speaking (Mandatory) · Genuine Interest in Horticulture (Mandatory) |
